Rob Walker is a prominent composer with major film, television, and performing credits. His 16 major motion picture credits include Perks of Being a Wallflower, Tenure, Easy A, Bandslam, Whip It, What Goes Up, High School Musical III, Fired Up!, and College Road Trip.
His music has been in 74 Television Series, and 182 Episodes. His television credits include Ted Lasso, Friday Night Lights, Cold Case, Chicago Fire, Shark, The O.C., Animal Planet, Scandal, Glory Daze, Ugly Betty, True Blood, White Collar, Harry’s Law, All My Children, and One Life to Live. Music has been played in 53 countries. He recently completed the music for the new HBO series Perry Mason. His music has been also used on ESPN, The Today Show, Minute to Win It, America’s Got Talent, and Parks and Recreation. His music has been heard internationally in over 45 countries. He began his TV writing as an intern with Mike Post Productions.
Walker was commissioned by Wilkes College to write “Sounds of Lincoln” for the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. He has received a commission from the Hazleton Area School District for a new work for the 2015 Honors Band. He served as Director of Bands at the Ferrwood Music Camp in Hazleton, PA.
Walker is a Cannonball Trumpets Performing Artist. As a trumpet player, Walker has worked with notable artists such as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Wayne Newton, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, and The Moody Blues. In 2010, he was the featured soloist with the United States Air Force Jazz Commanders. Walker has also played in the pit for two Broadway national tours, "Chicago", and "Spamalot".
Rob Walker studied film scoring and music composition at the Berklee College of Music. He received a Berklee Alumni Award in 2009 and received the 2012 and 2013 ASCAP Plus Awards for his compositions for concert bands and orchestras. He holds a B.A. from New York University in Film and Music Composition and did additional compositional studies at The Juilliard School. He also studied composition privately with William Russo. Walker is a member of the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers, American Composers Forum, International Trumpet Guild, and ASCAP.
He hosted his jazz radio show on Boise State Public Radio called Jazz Conversations with Rob Walker for seven years.
On the business side, Rob Walker has worked with over 200 National Accounts, to curate brand-enhancing music to capture the emotional power of music. He created a Brand DNA Process that highlights the elements of a brand’s identity that can be supported through music and voice.
Rob resides in the Portland, OR area and plays Trumpet with two of Portland’s most well-known big bands; the Mike Curtis Big Band and The Jump Town Big Band.
